CeRER mock exams & practice papers
CeRER — the Certificate in Regulated Equity Release — is the usual next qualification after CeMAP if you want to advise on lifetime mortgages and home reversion. If you already hold CeMAP (or an equivalent Level 3 mortgage qualification) you sit two extra units: FOER and EQRS. The papers below copy those exams.

How the exam actually works
Walbrook assesses you at the end of each unit, online through Brightspace with remote invigilation — sit whenever you choose, inside a 12-month registration. FOER is 50 standalone multiple-choice questions in one hour, pass 35/50. EQRS is three case studies of ten linked questions, 30 marks in one hour, pass 21/30. Both need 70% independently; a strong EQRS score does not rescue a failed FOER. Registration is £275 including materials and first exam entry for each unit (check Walbrook for the current figure). A resit fee applies per unit you fail.

FOER — Fundamentals of Equity Release
The knowledge paper of CeRER: 50 standalone questions in 60 minutes, 35/50 to pass. It tests whether you know what equity release is, how lifetime mortgages and home reversion plans actually work, who the Equity Release Council is, and how benefits, tax and later-life circumstances change the picture — before EQRS asks you to apply it to a client.
EQRS — Equity Release Solutions
The application paper of CeRER: three client case studies, ten linked questions each, 30 marks in 60 minutes, 21/30 to pass. It does not add much new content. It tests whether you can pick a suitable later-life solution for this household — including when the right answer is not to release equity at all.
