What changed in CeMAP in 2025?
From 30 September 2025, CeMAP is studied and examined unit by unit rather than module by module. There are still three modules — but Module 1 was replaced, and Modules 1 and 2 are now sat as separate one-hour exams.
- Module 1 changed from UKFR to FSRE, sat as FRE1 + FRE2 (25 questions plus 3 case studies each).
- Module 2 (MORT) is now MRT1 (50 questions) + MRT2 (40 questions) instead of one four-unit paper.
- Module 3 is unchanged in shape — 6 case studies, 10 questions each — now coded ASEW (England & Wales) or ASSC (Scotland).
- Pass mark stays 70% on every unit.
- New-version exams are sat online through Brightspace with remote invigilation, not at a Pearson VUE test centre.
- 29 September 2025 was the last day to register on the old version; old-format exams ended 12 January 2026.

CeMAP is the qualification that lets you give regulated mortgage advice in the UK — and passing it is what opens that range.
